Gender Reveal

Thanks to Pinterest, we had the fun idea of doing a silly string gender reveal. Matt and I both truly thought this one was a girl, so we were insanely surprised during the ultrasound. I think we shocked several family members as well!

Maddax may or may not have had fun. Feel free to zoom in and see the double chin that big ole smile caused!

So thankful this girl will be home again when we have the baby to keep me company during 3am feedings. Sis, I promise to have a bed ready for you in the new house!

We are unbelievably excited to add another wild boy to the clan. I've always been one of the guys anyway, so this is perfectly fitting. Time to start designing the nursery!

When it rains it pours!

So the Akins household has been a bit chaotic lately. The saying "When it rains, it pours," is NO JOKE. Here's a snapshot of all that's been going on.

So we decided to put our house on the market and see what happened. Well, thanks to our fabulous realtor, TJ Mohler, we were under contract within 20 days! We are so excited and sad at the same time to say goodbye to our first home.

With a small fear of being homeless, we began to get serious about finding a new house. We had our eye on a house a couple of months back, but since we weren't really moving, we didn't act on it. Well now we're really moving so it was time to act on it! Here she is! We are so in love.

In addition to selling a house, and buying a house, Matt and I have both also started new jobs! I moved to Ivie and Associates. Matt is still with Arvest, but is now a Mortgage Lender in Fayetteville (go see him for all of your real estate financing!)

If you're still reading this, (thanks!) you're in for our biggest news of all. Save the date for New Years 2015 because baby Akins #2 is on the way!

So let's recap......new house, new jobs, and new baby, all in just a few weeks. Someday I'll sleep again, but for now life is AMAZING. We are so incredibly blessed and could not possibly be more thankful for all of these amazing life-changing events.

I'm terrible about blogging, but I'm going to try to be better as we update the new house. Stay tuned for pics

Cam turns 1!

Sweet Campbell turned 1 last week. She is a leap year baby so we celebrated the first weekend in March. Lindsey did an awesome job of making the tablescape adorable!

Jordan McEntire made another incredible sweet treat. She's unbelievably talented and her cake was fantastic.

Big sis Charley was there to help blow out the candle.

Campbell and daddy are BFFs.

Charley loved the princess cookie cake topper. She was dying to get her hands on it.

...........and Mr. Jealous shows up. Campbell wasn't entirely sure about this whole cake thing, so don't worry, Maddax showed her what it was all about.

Checking out the bear that sis designed for her.

And loving her adorable beauty shop set.

I love how her outfit turned out. I was a little nervous making it.

No idea where she gets that look!

Campbell is the happiest, most content child I've ever met. She has the sweetest heart and loves to cuddle. We cherish ever second with this little nugget. Happy birthday precious girl!

Kate

2013 So far

One of my New Years resolutions was to blog more. Well.....FAIL. Unfortunately I've been too busy with crafts, family and working to have time to tell everyone about it.

Here's a little piece that I've been working on for about 4 months now. I got her sanded down and primed in about October, but it got too cold (aka I was too busy) to finish it. It took a few late nights, but finally got it done. Kind of in love.

And the final product. Maddax took a 4 hour nap one Saturday so I dusted off the sewing machine and got to work.

I had some burlap left over from Christmas, so I made this sweet little door hanger. I suppose I need to start on Easter decorations since Valentine's Day is almost over....

Little man has been very busy lately. We have definitely reached the little boy stage. Climbing, throwing, yelling, and talking back. Luckily he still gives sweet hugs and kisses at the end of the day. He waves and says hi (and blows kisses) to everyone. This kid doesn't know a stranger.

We celebrated Maddax's half birthday a few weeks ago. We went to Venesian Inn and had dinner with my best friends from high school. I had Jordan McEntire make an adorable cake for the little man! She's absolutely fantastic!

That's our year so far in a nutshell. Lots more to come!
